Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) was a Swedish artist whose paintings were amongst the first abstract art. During her lifetime she made her living as a portrait and landscape painter. Af Klint's work ran parallel to the development of abstract art by other artists such as Mondrian, Malevich and Kandinsky who were, like af Klint, inspired by the Theosophical Movement. Malcolm McLaren the former manager of the Sex Pistols died in Switzerland at the age of 64.

In the 70's, McLaren and Westwood, opened a clothing shop in London called 'Let It Rock' and later on 'SEX'. The shop sold secondhand & Teddy Boy clothes and they designed clothing for theatrical and cinematic productions and later on they sold fetish and bondage gear as well as original fashion styles that would later become punk.

McLaren and his 'partner in crime' Vivienne Westwood where pioneers in bringing subcultures out into the mainstream public. Early in there careers they recognized that it was these subversive cultures that would later be reinterpreted and adapted into the larger world to be copied by millions.

McLaren's & Westwood's son; Joseph Ferdinand Corré, (co)founded the lingerie brand Agent Provocateur.
